In May of this year, Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and the Islip Town Board appointed Shelley LaRose-Arken to run the Town-owned Long Island MacArthur Airport (“LIMA”) in Ronkonkoma. At our meeting, LIA members will have the unique opportunity to hear firsthand about her plans and vision for the future of the airport.
LIMA is a major economic engine for not just the Town of Islip and Suffolk County, but for the whole region. Moreover, LIMA is an integral part of the transformational Ronkonkoma Hub transit-oriented development project. The continued growth and prosperity of the airport will positively impact the business community, tourism and commerce. As the new Airport Commissioner, Shelley will lead the efforts to attract new airlines, establish new destinations and make travel more accessible and convenient for Long Islanders. The meeting will conclude with a Question and Answer session.
One of the many benefits of LIA membership is complimentary admission to all of our member strategic committees, policy forums and many of our special events. We hope that you are able to join us for this exciting opportunity.
